Numerical Simulation of Flow-Induced Noise in Horizontal Axial Flow Pumps in Forward and Reverse Conditions

This paper investigates the influence of pressure pulsation and flow-induced noise using a two-way dual-purpose pump. The signal is obtained from Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) turbulent model calculation as fan sound source, field distribution in impeller calculated. numerical results show that external characteristics simulation correlate well with experimental values. Under different working conditions, decreases increase flow rate; no evident dominant frequency occurs spectrum at low rate, many spurious frequencies occur. primary runner chamber leaf frequency, nonblade area rotating frequency. has dipole characteristics, its directivity radiation level can reflect characteristics. It primarily affected by blade rate consistent pulsation. Avoiding operating reasonable effectively reduce ensure stability unit operation.
